The White Sox‘ Mark Buehrle has joined that very short roll call of major league pitchers who’ve thrown a perfect game, and that even shorter roll call of pitchers who’ve thrown two no-hitters, including one perfect game. And yeah, DeWayne Wise‘s catch is probably the greatest no-hitter-saving play of all-time, though I remember one way back in the ’80s, when Juan Nieves pitched a no-no for the Brewers, and the last out came on a full-out Robin Yount diving catch in centerfield. Some of you other old farts may remember that one too. Anyway, yesterday was Mr. Buehrle’s day. He even got a phone call from the president! Gosh.
