Carlos Zambrano moved one step closer to returning to the mound Sunday when he threw 3 2/3 innings in a rehab start in Daytona against the Dunedin Blue Jays, and afterward reported that he experienced no pain in his hamstring or any other part of his valuable body. “”No problems,” Z said. “I feel 100 percent. I just had a little problem with my release point. But this week, before my next outing, we’ll correct it.”
That “little problem” with his release point caused Zambrano to surrender 5 hits and 3 walks in those 3 2/3 innings against A-ballers. I don’t care about that though: I just want to know if he tried to drop any bunts and leg them out. Also did he get enough water. And what about his potassium intake. And please tell me he hasn’t been emailing his brother fifty times a day again. The last thing he needs is another bout of mouse elbow.
