Chicago Cubs manager Joe Maddon knows how important defense is. That’s why Tuesday’s win must have had him giddy with some of the plays the Cubs made in the 2-1 win over the Cardinals.

D-Peat. It may be one of Chicago Cubs‘ skipper Joe Maddon‘s ‘Maddonisms’, but how important it is to the Cubs cannot be overstated. The defense last year was the best in the league. Is it possible that this year’s team could be even better? If Tuesday night was any indicator, the answer to that question is yes.
