Chicago Cubs fan favorite David ‘Grandpa’ Ross will be the first MLB player to participate on Dancing with the Stars as he looks to pick up more hardware.

Get your dancin’ shoes, Grandpa Rossy!

The former Chicago Cubs’ catcher has officially signed on to take part in Season 24 of Dancing with the Stars on ABC, making him the first MLB player to participate on the popular show.

Athletes have taken up spots on the program for years. National Football Hall of Famer Emmitt Smith won back in Season 3 and, just last year, Olympic gymnast Laurie Hernandez won it all in Season 23.

Ross will be paired with professional Lindsay Arnold, who is known for her fun-loving personality and high energy. It’s a match that should lead to plenty of memorable GIFs in the years to come.

On Good Morning America Wednesday morning, Chicago Cubs’ first baseman Anthony Rizzo, had a special message for Ross.

Of course, none of these people had the weight and support of Cubs Nation behind them. After vanquishing a 108-year World Series title drought, what’s taking home a Mirror Ball trophy?
