Everyone knows that it’s been 71 years since the last Chicago Cubs World Series appearance, but there are a bunch of other facts and stats from their Game 6 win Saturday night.

A lot has changed in 71 years. The world has nearly 5 billion more people today than it did in 1945. 38 members of the Baseball Hall of Fame weren’t even alive yet. Twelve presidents have been in the White House, and color TV didn’t even exist. 71 years later, the only thing that stands between the Chicago Cubs and a World Series Championship is the Cleveland Indians. Let’s dig into some facts and stats from their NLCS Game 6 win.

The Cubs snapped the longest streak without a championship appearance in any of the four major North American sports. The Cubs and Indians have combined for 174 years between championships. That is the highest total of any two World Series teams since 2005 when the Astros and White Sox combined for 130 years.

The Cubs have snapped a 0-for-6 streak in NLCS clinching games. 403 World Series games have been played since the last Cubs World Series appearance in 1945. The Cubs are only the second team to face the minimum 27 batters in a postseason game. The 1956 Yankees were the only other team to do it. Hendricks is now 26-0 in his career in games which the Cubs have scored at least three runs.

The Cubs scored twice against Kershaw in the 1st. Kershaw never allowed more than one run in the first inning of any previous playoff start. Kershaw threw 30 pitches in the first inning, the most he’s thrown in any inning this season.

Willson Contreras‘ home run in the bottom of the 4th had an exit velocity of 105.5 mph. the third hardest hit ball of Kershaw in 2016. In nine career starts against the Cubs, Kershaw never allowed more than three runs until Saturday.

Teams that scored first went a combined 11-0 in the LCS this year. The Dodgers are now 0-46 in road playoff games in which they trailed by at least three runs.The Dodgers have gone 10 consecutive postseason appearances without reaching a World Series, a new MLB record.

The Cubs are now just 108 outs away from their first World Series championship since 1908, which was 108 years ago. The Cubs became the first team to ever have three different catchers all homer in the postseason. The start time for all seven World Series games is 7:08pm Central Time, which is 19:08 in military time.
