The Kansas City Royals poured it on all night long on Tuesday, routing the San Francisco Giants 10-0 and setting up a winner-take-all Game 7 Wednesday night at Kauffman Stadium. Yordano Ventura, a 23-year-old rookie, was lights-out, scattering just three hits over his seven shutout innings of work after being staked to an early lead thanks to a seven-run second.

Meanwhile, the Chicago Cubs are reportedly still in talks with manager Joe Maddon, and a decision could be coming as soon as Friday, according to reports. Former Oakland Athletics slugger Jose Canseco was involved in a firearms-related incident at his Las Vegas home, and is rumored to have shot off most of his middle finger on one hand, and thousands showed up for the funeral of St. Louis Cardinals prospect Oscar Taveras, who died earlier this week in an automobile accident in the Dominican Republic.
