Morning Marquee: ALCS postponed by rain; Dbacks name Hale new skipper

Mother Nature decided to jump in to the drama of the baseball playoffs this year, as heavy rains postponed the first playoff game in Kansas City in almost 30 years in the ALCS. The postponement sets up the possibility of a historic string of games. If the Orioles can get on the board with a win, the LCS would see three consecutive days with a twin bill on the schedule. It would be only the fourth time since the LCS was introduced in 1969.

The Chicago Cubs are looking to cash in on a new TV deal, as their contract with WGN-TV expired last year. The television rights are split, but the Cubs could cash in sooner than later with a deal.

The Arizona Diamondbacks have named Chip Hale as their new manager. Hale, a bench coach for the A’s, has no Major League managerial experience. He does have a history with the Diamondbacks, as he managed the Reno Aces, the Triple-A affiliate for three seasons.
