With a week left to play in the regular season, multiple playoff races are yet to be decided.

On Sunday at Wrigley Field, the Los Angeles Dodgers’ offense continued its torrid pace behind outfielder Matt Kemp, who went 4-for-4 with 4 RBIs, including a two-run home run. Los Angeles will now return home to take on the second-place San Francisco Giants, a team that is clinging to slim playoff hopes after falling four games back with the Dodgers’ win and a San Francisco loss yesterday.

In other contests with playoff implications, the Oakland Athletics walked off at home thanks to a two-run home run by third baseman Josh Donaldson. St. Louis also clinched a postseason berth, now turning their attention to the National League Central title, which seems well within Mike Matheny‘s club’s grasp heading into the final week. Kansas City picked up a game on Detroit with a win on Sunday, and now trails the Tigers by just 1 1/2 games.

The Cubs were also reported to be the most likely landing spot for Athletics’ left-hander Jon Lester this offseason, as the club will likely make major starting pitching additions either this offseason or following the 2015 season.
