The Chicago Cubs will hope to play spoiler against the Pittsburgh Pirates as they continue to battle for the division, and a Wild Card spot.

The Cubs (65-83) will send Jacob Turner (1-2, 5.31) to the hill as they continue to assess if he can be part of the Cubs future pitching staff. Turner is coming off a loss at toronto in which he allowed four earned runs over six innings.

The Pirates (78-70) will answer with Edinson Volquez (11-7, 3.36), who is having his best season since his rookie campaign. After taking two no-decisions in a row, a win down the stretch during this playoff push would be huge for the Pirates.

The Cubs will look for Javier Baez to continue to swing a hot bat as he’s homered in back-to-back contests. The Cubs Luis Valbuena has also had good luck against Volquez, going 3-for-5 with a double, a home run, and two RBIs.

The game is a 12:35 pm CT start at PNC Park. WGN TV will have the game, as well as the broadcast on WGN 720 AM.
