The Chicago Cubs were finally able to bring their losing streak to an end, topping the Pittsburgh Pirates 6-4 behind a solid start from Felix Doubront.

Matt Szczur hit his first career home run, and Javier Baez homered for the second consecutive game as the Cubs needed every one of those runs. The once reliable bullpen has struggled in late innings recently, and did so once again Saturday, as the Pirates scored four off the bullpen before the Cubs finally closed it out.

Zack Greinke and the Los Angeles Dodgers brought their boomsticks to the park, routing the San Francisco Giants 17-0 and defending their NL West lead. Greinke went yard as well, as the Dodgers tallied 24 hits and chased starter Tim Hudson after only one inning. The Dodgers extended their division lead to two games with the win.

Mike Trout homered twice for the Los Angeles Angels, and Jered Weaver picked up his AL leading 17th win as the Halos beat the Astros 5-2. Their first division title since 2009 is well within reach as their magic number is down to four.
