The Chicago Cubs send rookie Kyle Hendricks to the mound, hoping he can build off his first Major League victory in his last start. He’ll match up against St. Louis Cardinals veteran Adam Wainwright.

The Cubs (42-60) will be getting another glimpse of what they hope is a bright future in Hendricks (1-0, 2.77). He was effective in his debut as well, but did not get a decision.

The Cardinals (55-48) will rely on Adam Wainwright (12-5, 2.02), who is coming off his second shortest start of the season. He had issues repeating his delivery, something which the Cardinals believe shouldn’t be an issue to fix.

The Cubs Ryan Sweeney went 1-for-3 on Saturday, moving to 8-for 18 (.444) on the season against the Cards, with two home runs and eight RBIs.

The game is a 1:20 pm CT start, and will be carried on WCIU TV, and broadcast on WGN 720 AM.
