Tsuyoshi Wada will be making his Major League Debut for the Chicago Cubs (38-50) as he will be called up as the 26th man for the nightcap of the doubleheader. The Cincinnati Reds (47-42) will counter with a 26th man call-up of their own in David Holmberg. It will be his second Major League start.

Wada, who ranked second in the Pacific Coast League in strikeouts with 105, is also fifth in ERA with a 2.66. He was in the Orioles organization in 2012-13, and had Tommy John surgery in May 2012.

After dropping the opener 4-2, the Cubs will need to find a way to get hits with runners on  as back-to-back solo home runs accounted for all of the offense. The Cubs left runs out there, going 2-for-6 with RISP.

Anthony Rizzo, who is hoping to make the NL All-Star team in the final vote, hit his 18th home run on Monday, but found things a bit tougher, going 0-for-3 with two strikeouts.

The second game of the doubleheader is scheduled for 6:10 pm CT first pitch.
