After two days of persistent rain in Cincinnati, the Chicago Cubs (8-17) look to split the rain shortened series against the Cincinnati Reds (12-14) tonight at the Great American Ballpark.

Edwin Jackson (1-2, 5.02) will go on extra rest for the Cubs, and will be opposed by the Reds Tony Cingrani (2-2, 2.86).

Jackson comes off his first quality start of the season, and his first since Sept. 22 of last season. Jackson and the Cubs hope Starlin Castro can get some help on offense to support him. Castro’s two-run single was all the Cubs could muster in the 3-2 loss on Tuesday night.

Tonight’s game is a 6:10 CT start and will be broadcast on WGN 720 and on television on CSN.
