The Chicago Cubs were off on Monday before they host a three game series against the Pittsburgh Pirates starting Tuesday evening. While the major league was off, the minor league affiliates went 1-2 with the Iowa Cubs having the lone win.

Tsuyoshi Wada only gave up one earned run in 6 2/3 innings and third baseman Christian Villanueva hit a three-run home run to life Iowa to a win over Milwaukee’s Triple-A Nashville.

Around the majors, Michael Wacha continued to dominate division teams with a home opener win over the Cincinnati Reds and Royal’s Omar Infante was struck in the face.
