Ryan Kalish made his Chicago Cubs debut with a triple, double, and three RBIs to lift the North Siders to a 8-3 win over the Philadelphia Phillies on Sunday afternoon to avoid a sweep.

Cubs starter Jake Arrieta threw three innings of no-hit ball, struck out three and walked one in a rehab start at Double-A Tennessee on Saturday while top prospect Javier Baez hit a pinch-hit home run to help the Triple-A Iowa Cubs to a 4-3 win over the Memphis Redbird (St. Louis Cardinals) on Sunday afternoon.

Around the league, Derek Jeter moved up to 8th all time in hits, Texas Rangers’ pitcher Yu Darvish became the fastest to 500 strikeouts, and New York Mets’ pitcher Bobby Parnell will undergo Tommy John surgery.
