The Chicago Cubs earned their first win of the season on Thursday in 3-2 fashion over the Pittsburgh Pirates.

Emilio Bonifacio continued his strong performance as he notched his 11th hit and starter Jason Hammel delivered a scoreless outing. The Cubs will take on former Cubs Hall of Famer Ryne Sandberg‘s Philadelphia Phillies on Friday afternoon in their home opener at Wrigley Field.

Four and half years after purchasing the Cubs, the Ricketts family is exploring the idea of selling minority ownership shares to help finance Wrigley Field renovations.
