Pregame Notes: Split-squad Chicago Cubs teams in action on Friday

The Chicago Cubs will split up the team this afternoon, taking on both the Cleveland Indians and the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim – with both games slated for 2:05 p.m. CST.

Right-hander James McDonald (0-0, 54.00 ERA) will start for Chicago against the split-squad Angels and will be opposed by Hector Santiago (0-1, 0.00 ERA) – a former member of the Chicago White Sox. In the Cubs-Indians matchup, Edwin Jackson (0-1, 4.50 ERA) will face off against Hector Carrasco (1-0, 2.25 ERA).

The Indians-Cubs game will be broadcast on MLB.TV and an MLB.com online audio stream is available for the Angels-Cubs matchup at Templo Diablo Stadium.
