Cubs, Diamondbacks rained out

SCOTTSDALE, AZ — Saturday’s Cactus League game between the Chicago Cubs (0-2) and Arizona Diamondbacks (3-2) at Salt River Fields at Talking Stick has been cancelled due to rain.

The cancellation marks the second rain out for the Cubs today, after their scheduled 2:05 p.m. CST game against the San Fransisco Giants (1-2) in Mesa was also cancelled.

Both games will not be made up and those who had tickets for the game against the Giants may redeem them for a future game at Cubs Park prior to the day of the new game, according to the Cubs. There has been announcement made about the game at Talking Stick.

Cubs’ right-hander Travis Wood threw two innings in a simulation game at Cubs complex after the Giants game was cancelled.

The Cubs are scheduled to play the the Kansas City Royals (2-1) at 2:05 p.m. CST at Cubs Park in Mesa.
