Our beloved Chicago Cubs were given the green light to bring in more sponsors in and around the ballpark. You know, companies in the surrounding areas who pay good money to have either their product or company logo somewhere in the park.

Just like that giant Toyota sign that stands behind the left field bleachers. I’ll admit that it looks pretty cool, but it’s a little overkill.

Now I’m sure most Cubs fans who live in the Chicagoland/Wrigleyville area are familiar with Giordano’s Pizza. I haven’t eaten there, but I heard the food is great. According to Danny Ecker of ChicagoBusiness.com, the new deal will allow Giordano’s to be the only pizza served inside Wrigley Field.

They’ll also have their very own chefs working inside their kitchens. Once the season begins, they’re going to be pretty busy.

Their previous sponsorship with D’Agostino’s was brought on board as a sponsor back in 2011 along with some other Chicago favorites. Those favorites include Vienna Beef Hot Dogs, Stanley’s Kitchen & Tap, The Fifty/50, Gonnella Baking Company and Enjoy Life Foods. The last one is a company that provided gluten free and allergy friendly food.

D’Agostino’s Pizza sold giant thin crust slices with a few combinations. The deal was up after the 2013 season ended, which opened up an opportunity for Giordano’s. I’m sure they’ll be offering customers a chance to try their famous stuffed pizza.

This new pizza vendor will be very popular with those who attend the friendly confines. I think this is  great move by the Ricketts family. And for Cubs fans, like myself, who happen to live out-of-state? There’s an answer for that, too.

You’re still able to order from them online. How does that work? They’ll ship the pizza directly to you. I’ll be sure to try them out whenever I visit the new Spring Training ballpark in Mesa, Arizona.
