Cernek’s Bid For MLB FanCave Falls Short

This is the end, beautiful friend. The end.

Katie Cernek seen here with

Tony Campana

a few hours before she stalked him in his car. Outstanding.

In what was probably the most heartbreaking piece of news since the departure of Tony Campana (pictured together), the only Cubs fan left in contention for the MLB Fan Cave was not selected.

Katie Cernek, friend of the site and all around awesome-possum broke the news via twitter today:

Most of the time, this is barely news. In fact as Cubs fans, you’d think we’d be used to falling short of our goals every once in a while but Katie is such a nice person, I’m shocked she’s not on the ballot to become the next pope. It would have been super bad ass to have a friend inside the Fan Cave to bring us all the coolest stories and photos.

It’s upsetting news as many of you readers helped Katie reach the final 30 but she seems to be taking the loss well:

Don’t worry Katie. You’re still a winner in our eyes as you were the ambassador for Cubs fans worldwide, even if just for a short period of time. You represented us with dignity, honor, and a little bit of sass. If it’s any reconciliation, you can join the Cubbies Crib Fan Cave anytime.

I know she would want to thank each and every one of you who voted personally if she could.
