Quick Hits: Matt Garza “Cleared For Takeoff”

In true Matt Garza form, the Cubs’ resident ace tweeted this morning:

I’m cleared for takeoff!! Strap it on tight cause we are going on one helluva ride… #getitdone#freedom#2013

It’s pretty safe to say that after yesterday’s elbow scan, he’s now been cleared by team doctors to start taking part in baseball activities again. This is fantastic news considering how much he was missed in the rotation last year and should be back to his former self.

Garza is a true man of “character”, even joking on his twitter feed about playing wiffle ball with his followers. His presence on the bench will be welcomed back with open arms as well.

Expect Garza to be ready to rock for spring training.
