Scott Baker has been signed by the Cubs this morning.
Reports say that Baker will receive $5.5 million for 1 year of service plus $1.5 million in bonuses.
The former Twin was projected to be signed for at least $6.5 million, as stated by Jon Heyman, so it’s arguable the Cubs have gotten a potential bounce back player for cheaper than market value. His metrics indicate he’s worth $5.5 million at least despite missing the vast majority of the 2012 season with Tommy John surgery.
