Over the last couple of years, Ryan Theriot has really come onto the scene as a true fan favorite for the Chicago Cubs. But Theriot is not making any fans within the Cubs front office. Word has it that the Cubs front office is angered with Ryan Theriot due to the amount that Theriot submitted for arbitration figure. Yesterday, the Cubs officially announced the signing of Xavier Nady to a one year deal worth $3.3 million as a base, and an additional $2 million in incentives based on games played. During his teleconference with Chicago media, Xavier Nady who likes to be called “X”  said that he does not think that he will miss any time due to his rehab from tommy john surgery. The Cubs off-season is just about close to being completed, the lone task remaining for the Cubs is acquiring a late inning right handed relief pitcher. With the Cubs off-season checklist looking just about completed, the Cubs are now focusing on avoiding arbitration with three players in Sean Marshall, Carlos Marmol, and Ryan Theriot. The Cubs also added infield depth today, as Bruce Levine reports that the Cubs are set to announce that they have signed former Arizona Diamondback infielder Chad Tracy to a minor league deal with an invite to spring training. The 29 year old veteran struggled last year by only posting a .237 average, but signs point to him rebounding as he is a career .280 hitter. Today, the Cubs have found their fourth outfielder in Xavier Nady. The Cubs and Nady have agreed on terms to a one year contract worth $3.3 Million. Nady could also receive an additional $2 million in incentives tied to how many games he plays in. Nady, 31, is coming off his second career tommy john surgery, which forced him to miss all of 2009.
