Milton Bradley Accuses Umps of Bias Against Him

Milton Bradley has a novel explanation for why he has sucked so far in a Cubs uniform:

"Chicago Cubs right fielder Milton Bradley lashed out at Major League Baseball’s umpires Sunday, saying they are forcing him to swing at bad pitches by widening his strike zone.Bradley, suspended one game last month after an argument with umpire Larry Vanover, said he thought other umps were getting back at him for the incident.“Unfortunately, I just think it’s a lot of ‘Oh, you did this to my colleague,’ or ‘We’re going to get him any time we can,” Bradley said, according to the Chicago Tribune. “As soon as he gets two strikes, we’re going to call whatever and see what he does. Let’s try to ruin Milton Bradley.’“It’s just unfortunate. But I’m going to come out on top. I always do.”"

For the record, Bradley is hitting .188 this year with an on-base percentage of .310.  After signing a three-year contract with the Cubs worth $30 million.  That signing is going to come back and bite the Cubs in the ass.  Actually, it already has.  Cause if they hadn’t so insanely given Bradley that deal, they could’ve run Micah Hoffpauir out there in rightfield every day.  Honestly, for Bradley to conjure this excuse…it’s pretty pathetic.  Most major leaguers just own up to it when they’re in a slump, but not Bradley – it’s the umps, it’s the media, it’s everything but him and the pressure being too much for his fragile psyche.  I’d be shocked if Bradley lasts the rest of the season.  Chicago is a bad fit for a dude with a persecution complex bordering on paranoid delusion.
